The National Digital Book Company is an online bookstore that sells interactive digital textbooks, readers, and books to students, faculty, and the general public.

You may be more familiar with its close cousin, the "e-book", which is an electronic version of a printed book that can be read on a personal computer or hand-held device that was specifically designed for this purpose, such as a Kindle or Nook. An e-book is essentially no different from a large-print, paperback, or audio version of a print book.

An interactive digital book is much more than a "book." It is an an internet book, with all that implies. The books sold on the National Digital Book Company website have text, but also contain audios, videos, slide shows, hyperlinks, animations, PowerPoints, and other interactive elements embedded into the text.

Interactive digital books are the evolution of the textbook as we have known it, merging traditional textbooks with the most advanced electronic information and communications technologies available.
